Old Town Arts Supporter and Biggest Booster Recognized as 2008 Outstanding Small Business
LANSING, Mich. (February 11, 2008) - Lansing’s Old Town Business and Art Development Association (OTBADA) and Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art (MICA) congratulates MessageMakers, a creative media firm headquartered in Old Town, for receiving the annual Outstanding Small Business Award from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce for 2008.
The award honors a small business that meets the criteria of stability, innovation, commitment to the community, perseverance and commitment to diversity.
"We have a special window into the work MessageMakers does in the community, since we work so closely on JazzFest, BluesFest and other Old Town projects," notes Arlie Skory, treasurer of OTBADA. "We get to see their commitment to the community lived out in the work they do to promote this area and to create unique experiences in the festivals. There are few organizations as devoted to these causes or that give as much as MessageMakers.
"Terry [Terry], who serves as our board president, also is president of MessageMakers. I’ve been consistently impressed by his commitment to the area, his leadership and his tireless efforts," said Skory.
