2-5-1 Award Winners Honored

LANSING, Mich. (March 30, 2009) - The winners of the biennial ii-V-I Community Turnaround Awards were honored at the Old Town Stomp event kicking off Lansing JazzFest and Old Town BluesFest work, held on Friday evening at Perspective2 (319 E. Grand River Ave., Lansing).

Lansing’s Old Town Business and Art Development Association (OTBADA) and Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art (MICA) present the awards to those who support creativity and the arts in Old Town Lansing. ii-V-I is a chord progression that provides an underlying structure allowing jazz musicians to improvise together. The winners were:

Terry Terry, president of OTBADA, noted that "We have a great group of winners this year: long-time partners, big promoters, dedicated volunteers. We're thankful for the work they’ve done to better Old Town and looking forward to what they'll make happen at this year's events."
